AmberBella Cotton Doll Fashion Brand

Cotton dolls are dolls made of cotton, usually 10cm-40cm in size. It first originated in South Korea, where the fandom culture is prevalent.

Entertainment companies cartoonish the image of artists make cotton dolls of them, and circulate them to the fan base in the form of official peripherals.

It all started when my friend Bella Zhang and I were both fans of K-pop at the time. I used to draw fan art and play with cotton dolls inspired by Pop culture, as well as buy clothes to decorate them. When I told Bella about this hobby, she suggested that we start our own brand of cotton dolls for the market.

We decided on our theme keywords: Summer, Blue, Joyful play of Children.

In the first set, I was inspired by the sea and sailor. So I designed a set with bright polka dots and with light blue navy blue sailor suit. Reflecting the coolness of summer, combined with my favorite animal tiger.

The second I designed was inspired by the circus. Yellow and blue color blocked plaid pattern, as well as the star buttons and jumpsuit, combined with the little mouse tail and headpiece. It all reminds me of the jumping mice from the stop-motion movie Caroline.

The final set designed by Bella, a pink lamb set, with cute ear hair bands and fluffy pumpkin pants showing softness and cuteness, which also fits with her favorite nature and pastures.

After confirming the design, we started contacting manufacturers and choosing fabrics. We used the Pantone color code to choose the colors with the factory, Bella and I bought the fabric samples we wanted to compare in person. Our product was about to come out, so Bella the role of photographer and I created the product launch image.

After completing the product, we must create the brand and store to promote our product.

I also created the promotional artwork for the clothing design.

In addition, I also designed the packaging and peripheral products in conjunction with the theme of the apparel and the store, in order to increase brand exposure and attract more fans during the promotional phase.
